Wainwright Bank Co-chairman Among 40 Bostonians to Watch

Boston Magazine issues list in 40th anniversary issue

Boston, MA, June 1, 2002 - Wainwright Bank Co-chairman and Co-founders, Bob Glassman and John Plukas, were among "40 Bostonians to Watch" as identified by Boston Magazine in their June, 2002 issue. The magazine asserts, "keep an eye on these up-and-comers. They'll have a lot to say about the next four decades."

Regarding the only bankers named to the list, the magazine states, "It's the rare company that does well while doing good. Wainwright Bank has invested in affordable housing and trumpeted its recruitment of gays, lesbians and minorities while at the same time aggressively expanding. For its pains, it's received the "Corporate Conscience Award" from the Center for Responsibility in Business while also making the Boston Globe's Globe 100 list of profitable companies."

The June, 2002 edition of the magazine features the list of "40 Bostonians we think will guide [Boston] through the future," as well as an accompanying list of "40 people who have helped make Boston what it is today." Others named to the list include writers, professors, architects, politicians, artists, athletes and heads of nonprofits.
