Wainwright Bank Announces Opening Of Newton Centre Branch

BOSTON, MA - November 10, 2005 - Wainwright Bank ("WAIN"), headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, has opened its environmentally-friendly branch at 1255 Centre Street in Newton Centre, Newton.

In keeping with Wainwright's designation as one of the nation's leading environmentally-conscious financial institutions, the branch has been designed and built to meet LEED certification standards. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

Environmentally-friendly aspects of the branch include the use of recycled and sustainable building materials, solar-powered lighting, low energy- and water-usage fixtures, and the recycling of construction waste.

Like Wainwright's Coolidge Corner and Davis Square branches, Newton Centre features a cyber-café that is available for use by the general public. Visitors can access their e-mail, surf the web, catch the latest news from CNN on a plasma-screen TV, or just relax with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. The space also functions as a "Community Room" that is available as an after-hours meeting facility for nonprofit clients of the bank.
