In 1996 the Bank was featured in a Balance Sheets newsletter regarding Domestic Partner Benefits. Balance Sheets is a publication produced by the joint efforts of Boston University’s Center on Work & Family and One Small Step. In December, 1996 the Bank was invited to participate in a NEWFA conference on Domestic Partner Benefits Insights from Organizations. As a member of the roundtable, along with Lotus and Polaroid, the Bank shared its experiences and success in obtaining domestic partner benefits. |

| Edgar P. Benjamin Healthcare Center |

Edgar P. Benjamin, a prominent attorney and community leader, founded the center’s parent company, Resthaven Corporation, in 1928. His dream was to "provide a home or shelter for and to otherwise assist indigent persons without regard to race, creed or color." Not only has attorney Benjamin’s dream endured, but what was once a single housing structure has grown into one of the largest nonprofit nursing facilities in Massachusetts. Today, Benjamin Healthcare Center is a 240-bed skilled nursing facility where Boston’s culturally diverse population has access to quality rehabilitative services. |

BEC is staffed by professionals from the Small Business Association, SCORE, Jewish Vocational Services (JVS), EDIC/BRA and Boston’s Public Facilities Department who are available on a walk-in basis. |
