Addressing women's issues is a priority of Wainwright's progressive
banking agenda. Aimed at informing women about a broad range
of money-related topics on "the principles that build
wealth", Wainwright Bank has developed the Personal Financial
Planning for Women seminars to help women become financially
independent.
Topics include: Proper uses of credit, understanding risk,
compounding, inflation and tax deferral.

The Bank provided a $7MM line of credit to Boston Community Capital, a community development financial intermediary whose mission is to create and preserve healthy communities where low-income people live and work. The Collective is a nonprofit women’s health education, advocacy, and consulting organization whose broad purpose is to help individuals and groups make informed personal and political decisions about issues affecting health and medical care, especially as they relate to women. The Collective believes that women’s health issues must be addressed in an economic, political, and social context. Our Bodies, Ourselves: A Book By and For Women published over 25 years ago, has become the most widely respected women’s health handbook ever written and has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide. |

The Center is a not-for-profit educational organization providing courses, workshops, one-on-one consulting and assistance securing loans. CWE’s mission is to empower women to become economically self-sufficient and prosperous through entrepreneurship. CWE provides financial aid to ensure that their services are affordable for all women. |

| Massachusetts National Organization for Women (NOW) Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign |

NOW’s Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign encourages businesses across the state to demonstrate their concern for the rights of their employees and consumers by implementing Women-Friendly policies such as affirmative action, family leave, domestic partnership benefits and strong anti-harassment policies. Wainwright Bank was one of the first and largest Boston area businesses to sign the Pledge in August, 1997. |
